Driving Gymkhana
– you missed a very interesting challenge thanks to the
efforts of Chris Neal, and it could not have taken place on a
better, warm, dry summer’s evening. I think this event may
well be repeated next year.
The 15th June
saw a number of SHVPS and Solent Austin 7 Club members supporting
the BSA Club visit to the Armouries. If you did not make it you
missed a rare event, six BSA vehicles, including a very rare 1924
B10, together. Thanks to Barry x2 for arranging the event.
The Summer Twinning saw 11 French vehicles arrive on 21st June to a very successful weekend. The Dinner & Dance at Upland Park Hotel was most enjoyable whilst the Sunday run to Tilford was supported by around 40 SHVPS vehicles. Well done to all those members that came and supported the Twinning with a special thank you to all the organizers and hosts, especially the BBQ on Monday.
As always,
a big welcome to all our new members. Whilst we loose a few members each year for all sorts of reasons, we also gain some including a French couple from this year’s Twinning event and the membership is hovering close
to the 320 mark and continues to grow.
If you have
any old motoring books that you wish to dispose, how about bringing
them to any of our club events, there may be someone who needs
what you have, and if not perhaps you might consider committing
them to our library or save them until the Rowan's Fete, and invite
donations for them to swell Rowan's funds.
